CHAT: Corp member vows to spread HIV and AIDS in Akwa Ibom State
A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Akwa Ibom State has vowed to spread the deadly Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), HIV is transmitted through unprotected s3x; sharing of sharps; receiving HIV infected blood through transfusion; and from infected mother to her child during pregnancy, delivery or breastfeeding.
In a WhatsApp conversation with her friend, the Corps member identified simply as Dami said she was HIV negative when she started NYSC orientation.
But months after the camp, she disclosed to her friend that she has been tested positive for the incurable disease, noting that she contracted the disease in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
Conversing further, Dami told her friend that she discouraged her from using a condom. “Shebi, you are the one that told me that condoms reduce pleasure, now you have seen,” Dami told her colleague.
The conversation started when Dami’s colleague asked her about the results she did at the hospital. She disclosed quickly that her life has been messed up, adding that she has been tested positive.
Towards the end of the conversation, Dami told her bewildered friend that there is a man she is supposed to meet later in the evening, stating that she will start her new national assignment by giving the man HIV.
“One useless guy that saw me in the cab got my number and I’m supposed to see him this evening, I will deal with men,” Dami said.
