…soldier killed, others injured as Gunmen attack ex-President’s house in Bayelsa
Unknown armed men have attacked the country home of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Otuoke, Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State.
Sources in Otuoke, said the gunmen, who invaded the house at about 3am, killed one soldier, injured one while another one was taken away to unknown destination.
Consequently, all roads in Otuoke/Otuaba is currently blocked by military personnel, with movement of residents restricted.
No official communication has been issued on the development by the ex president aides.
This is not the first time the former president has been attacked, Jonathan was attacked by a group of militants on, November 30, 2015, in Bayelsa State.
The former President escaped death when some suspected militants that were allegedly working for the opposition party in Bayelsa State drove into his convoy.
The men, who intercepted and drove into a short motorcade conveying Jonathan from the Julius Berger bridge area of the state capital Yenagoa, trailed and chased the motorcade to the entrance of the Yenagoa private residence of the former President in the Kpansia area of the town, before they were overpowered and arrested by a combined team of security operatives attached to the former President
